Pre-Christmas Jitters

Mom still hasn't decorated our house, but I am getting more and more excited by the day! There's a giant Christmas tree in the lobby of our building and Mom might take pictures of me with it today! I also get to go outside and play in the snow if I behave.

Last night I was very, very bad though. A few weeks ago I chewed on Mom's blackberry a bit before she caught me. She was so upset she started to cry but the phone still worked so it was ok. A couple weeks later I chewed on Dad's phone. After that his battery wouldn't stay in so he had to get a new phone. Last night I climbed up on the radiator while Mom was in the shower and took her blackberry off the windowsill and finished the job. Completely chewed it to the point where it wouldn't even turn on! Mom and Dad were so upset when they found it under the bed. I guess they were jealous that THEY didn't get to eat it first.

Daddy says I have the potential to be well-behaved but I'm not because Mom spoils me. But isn't that why I love her SO much?? :)

Adoptions

My mom and dad rescued me two months ago from the Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago (on Grand & LaSalle). Mom would love to adopt ALL the dogs from the shelter, but unfortunately, we currently live in an apartment that would be WAY too small if I had brothers and sisters.

The adoption process at the Anti-Cruelty Society is easy and rewarding. You can take any dog out to the courtyard for some one-on-one bonding time, and there are so many great pups to choose from! They're all energetic, happy animals who just want a forever family to love them. The $80.00 adoption fee is a small price to pay for a new family member! The application process just takes a couple minutes and then you and your pet are sent happily home with all the necessities.

Some of my friends still live there waiting to be adopted, and lots of new dogs have moved in too. You can visit the animals in person or check them out here online first: http://www.anticruelty.org/site/epage/36804_576.htm

Please help my friends! They deserve great homes and lots of love and attention :)

I'm so glad my parents took ME home - I've never been happier!

Snow!

This morning I woke up at 7:41 am and guess what I saw.... SNOW! Not much, but enough to make me wake up Momma for a brisk walk. As excited as I was, it was too cold to even make it to the end of the block. I should've worn my sweater.

I'm feeling much more rebellious this morning than most days. I refused to go back to bed once I was sitting on my couch in the living room. Then I attempted to eat Mom's boots, her fleece, and my blanket. She wasn't too happy about that. The first second I got alone, I stole her knitting needles and yarn (one of my favorite things to steal) and that made her even angrier. To show her who's boss, I started barking as loud as I could until she gave me a bowl of food. I win every time because I am the alpha male.

Mom read online that showing me her teeth when I'm bad will establish her role as my master, but I know better than that. No matter what she does, I know I am still in charge because I have a pudding face and she can't say 'no' to me.

Sometimes Mom talks to me about my predecessor, Fawn. She has pictures of Fawn in frames around our house which makes me jealous. Fawn was a Cocker Spaniel (RIP) and she grew up with my mom. I guess that would make her my aunt, but she passed away a few years ago from being reaaaaally old. Mom said that when Fawn was my age, she was devious and rebellious too! She hopes I might grow out of this phase in a year or so. I am determined to prove her wrong. After all, I am a puggle!

This wild morning I've had has started to make me sleepy. Maybe I'll take a nap and let Mom take one too...

My First Blog

I'm always getting into trouble, so my mom told me to start something constructive like a blog. I had just finished sneaking into the kitchen cabinet again when Momma caught me. I didn't even get a chance to lick the lid of that ice cream container she had just thrown out. However, I did manage to eat 3 socks today and almost got my paws on that cell phone charger that looked SO delicious.

My dad came home from work today with some tools and GIANT fetch sticks to do some handy work around the house. I couldn't keep my nose out of his business while he worked and kept stealing the occasional screw or drill bit, hoping he would throw me the huge stick as a trade-off. No such luck. He just told me NO about 50 times and finally locked me out of the room.

I'm not allowed on the bed tonight because I'm smelly and in desperate need of a bath. I have a couple blankets that Mom layed out for me in the corner of the bedroom with my piggy chew toy on it to cuddle. At least I can stretch my little legs out without worrying about Mom or Dad in my way! Tomorrow morning I get a bath, and then I get to ham it up on camera and pose for Mom's Christmas cards!
